CountryGirl5584 115 Posted January 31, 2015 I know this may sound like a stupid question, but after the sleeve how do you know you're full? What were your triggers to let you know? I know I have gotten to the weight I am because I often can't tell I'm full. Just curious
lucy0911 58 Posted January 31, 2015 Sounds funny...but throat gurrgle. Almost like a burp but not exactly.
mae7365 372 Posted January 31, 2015 Pressure and the feeling that I need to burp. Some times I do start burping if I eat too much. Believe it or not, I keep Gas-X with me for those occasions just so I get through without feeling the need to vomit. I'm very sensitive to vomiting, so I try to avoid that last bite that gets me to "full". But it's hard to gauge when that's going to happen. So it's a trial and error learning process. Good luck. JamieLogical 8,710 Posted January 31, 2015 I don't get a "full" feeling. I get an "overfull" feeling. I've been getting better and better at knowing how much food it will take to cause that feeling and just eating slightly less than that. My overfull feeling is a discomfort in my lower chest... a constriction feeling. It's not painful, but very uncomfortable. I often feel like I need to lie down when I have it. And if I really overdo it, I get what I call "productive burps". Burps where I can taste/feel the food in the back of my throat.
tomi71 581 Posted January 31, 2015 I get stomach pain and I can feel what seems to be reflux. I am 8 months out and still struggle with eating slower but still losing and learning what I can eat. I ate 3 grapes yesterday and thought I was going to die from pain! Lol If I happen to be eating in a restaurant, to avoid pain, I portion out my food to what I know I can eat. And I will sip some Water too to get full faster. This helps me to not reach for a French fry, etc.
wantingabetterlife 364 Posted January 31, 2015 @@JamieLogical I get that same feeling. I feel like I need to burp but it feels like food is coming up with it. Bottom line, you learn to recognize when you are getting full. And if you think "I'll just have one more bite"......you end up regretting it!
