beachlife88 2 Posted January 31, 2015 I went to my Dr. Visit today and the doctor told me that there may be a chance that I could have a leak after surgery. Due to the fact that I had a band slip/removal. He told me that the chances of a leak are higher. I'm feeling very confused about going through with the surgery, being that I had such a bad experience with the band. Please if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. samuelsmom 670 Posted January 31, 2015 This is one of those situations with no easy answers. It comes down to weighing the benefits and the risks and making the best decision for you. The likelihood of a leak is small but surgeons are obligated to point out anything that might happen even though it is unlikely. Good Luck to you.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted January 31, 2015 The risk of leak and other serious complications is about double for revisions but it is still a single digit risk. I think it depends on how much you need the surgery to save you from obesity. I revised 3 years ago and am half my former size as a result. There is a band to sleeve revision forum with lots of stories...
LSF 264 Posted February 1, 2015 I'm going in for my revision in 2 days. My Dr td me that after he does the surgery, he will be sliding a tube down me to check for any bleeding so he can see if there are any tears.
