hunkin702 10 Posted January 30, 2015 I was banded in 2010 and lost 105lbs. However, I started having extreme heartburn and vomiting and weight loss fluctuation (180-220 etc) After years of attempting to find my "sweet spot" by adding and removing fluid... Several upper GIs and not being able to hold more than 1cc in my band the doctor and I have decided to do the revision. I am currently scheduled for surgery on 2/5/15 and for some strange reason as of yet, I am not afraid, but I am excited. I have been feeling sick for so long I can't wait to start to feel better. I mean, yes, there is a possibility that I can wake up with just my band gone and no other WLS done due to scar tissue (that's the only thing I worry about) but we won't know until they remove the band and see how much damage it has done. I can't wait to get my energy back and run and play with my babies (2 and 6) Hope all goes well.
pupichupi 124 Posted January 30, 2015 I also had a band in 2010, and in 2011 had to have mine removed due to the same problems, but at the time I was too scared to have the revision to anything else, and just had the band removed. I am now 10 months post bypass surgery and I am down 105 lbs from 300 to 195 and I couldn't be happier. I wish in 2011 that I had gone forward with the revision instead of wasting 3 years of my life still being unhealthy, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and I just wasn't ready back then. I hope that you don't have any problems with having the revision and I wish you good luck you are making the best choice for you!!! Good luck!!!
