Question I am eight days post op and entering my purée stage. I'm not sure if I'm eating enough or too much. Some of the material in my package is contradicting. For those of you who cleared purées how much did you eat during one sitting?

Hi there and congratulations on being on the other side. I enjoyed cartoned Soups from the health food section of the regular grocery store. Like potato leek, etc. Also loved my Popsicles. Oh, and I was allowed egg drop Soup, which was great. I even spent a whole day learning how to make it (but I hear it's readily available from any take out Chinese place, lol). Still I could only have half to a cup of anything -- but then just as my appetite throughly returned it was time for a fill. Don't be worried if your return to hunger feels too soon or whatever -- it's all a process. You will do great!

Thanks @@Bandista

I'm sort of on the same tolerance. I'm able to have a cup of Soup or puréed food but that the max. I am then full for a good 4-5 hrs.

My concern was if I was eating too much. I read somewhere that some people only eat a few tablespoons, I almost dropped to the ground.

Depending on the food I can eat anywhere from 3/4 to a cup.

I was on full liquids for six weeks post op. I had Soups daily. I ate between one and one and a half cups, but occasionally two cups.

That was before any fills. Now if I eat Soup it's usually a cup. But I sometimes have that in addition to other food at the same meal. I just make sure to have the liquids first.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
