6 Weeks Post-op tomorrow...

I need to find something new for Breakfast. Egg has been my go to food for Breakfast. But now it does not agree with my pouch. :( Will I ever love it again?

Other breakfast ideas? I take Protein shakes, yogurt, baby bell cheese, sugar-free Jello with me for work. I need something for breakfast. I also usually bring a pureed Soup.

Deli meat/ham is in my food phase. But I am having difficulty with it. I tried a piece this morning and it got stuck. I thought I was going to vomit until it worked its way down.

Is it egg itself or the texture? Maybe you could make an egg custard? Or mix ricotta and some no sugar pudding powder? Also the Bariatric Eating (bariatriceating.com) website had a slew of great recipes. Also Pinterest.

I am not sure why my pouch is not liking egg anymore.

@@Annek2014, I too cannot tolerate eggs of any kind. It really bums me out because I used to love them. I have tried scrambled, fried, hard boiled, egg salad, egg custard. I have tried mixing them with other things but in the end my pouch nor my tastebuds like them.

I will usually have yogurt with high Protein granola, or oatmeal made with high protein milk. I really struggle when we go out for breakfast and these items are not on the menu. Then I will try ham which I used to love and barely tolerate now. I also sometimes will eat cottage cheese with some sliced strawberries or banana.< /p>

I am going to try fixing them another way. Hmm, maybe it just doesn't agree with me in the morning. LOL

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
