Started Jogging on the Knee! Yea!!!

Recommended Posts

So I decided to step up the excersize. The band is doing it's job and now it's time for me to do mine. I have re-habbed the knee to the point that I can yes jog! ;) I can't believe it. I ran 1/2 mile today. I know it does not sound like much... but when you consider just 4 mothes ago I was having trouble walking and had to take anti inflams. Today after my workout, I ended up walking the rest of the mile, I did not have any swelling or pain and this my second workout. I had been sticking to the eliptical machine. Don't worry I am not going to over do it I just wanted to see how it felt. So for the majority I am going to stick to the eliptical machine, but now that I know I can I am going to some jog/walking around the track on the grass. I was just so excited I had to share! :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh

Rica, that's wonderful! I remember you saying "saving your knees" was a big deciding factor in getting your band. I fully understand how much it means to get your "freedom" back. I'm so proud of you! Now, are you back "throwing hammers", yet?

Marie,

Hi, How have you been? I have not tossed any other than in demos for my freshmen. I should though. The knee is feeling fresh. Thanks for remembering!

That's great news, Rica. That's what it's all about, isn't it - regaining our lost health and vitality.

Congratulations, Rica! And you're down 40 lbs. in just four months. You'll be at your goal in no time. One question: Is "throwing hammers" exactly what it sounds like? Claw or ball peen models? ;)

Lisa what does NSV stand for??? Thanks blossom, when you start running it's best to start one block at a time...Oh and Nancy you are so right I feel so much more heathy. Zoe Hammer is a sport done in track in field where a metal ball is attached to steel wire and flung into a field... I guess you have to see it to understand it and do it to love it! Niecy Thanks for the support!;)

Rica, NSV is "nonscale victory". In your case, being able to resume running w/o pain in your knees. A few others, wedding ring now fits, use airplane seatbelt w/o extender, tie your shoes w/o passing out, clothes fitting better, and I know you'll think of a ton more!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
