I feel like Ryan :(

Ohmygoodness,

I can't believe it's only 6 short days away. I hadn't thought of it that way! I can start thinking of what I need to do now that my husband is doing well. One shock and the heart was beating properly again! Modern medicine is amazing.

I have sugarless popsicles, some Protein drinks, lots of Protein powders, lots of tea. I need to look at my lists from all you experienced people. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not postponed. I'll have my Mom and my husband to run to the store for me thankfully. I need to get Gas-X for sure - make sure my heating pad is working properly. What else?

I feel like I'm packing for a trip and I am! Getting ready for a new life!

Marie so glad you and your husband are doing so well. They can drive ya nuts but what would we do without them!

Thanks for all the support you all.

Denise, shave your legs before you go. You may not feel like bending over for a few days afterwards. We're trying to talk Ryan (Whipple Daddy) into doing that, too. LOL

That is absolutely wonderful news about your husband! Now, get your band! Don't we live in an amazing time?

You ARE going on a trip - a fantastic adventure called "Living life"! Can't wait to hear about your episodes!

How about Nair?

Shaving the legs isn't so bad, as long as I do it and not that crazy woman from the hospital. She'll be sanding THEM next!

I have a little hoop to jump through again, tho. The Echo had some little thing in it, My family Doc just wants to discuss it, no emergency or anything.

Boy, Ryan, you're really making this doctor earn his money, aren't you? LOL When do you find out about the Echo? How's the "diet" coming along?

Ryan - Good luck with your test. They sure are keeping you on pins and needles. Find out everything you can though, I didn't know about my Hiatal Hernia until I was in surgery.

Denise, I really enjoyed chicken broth. It was warm and soothing and seemed almost like food. Do you have a nice little coughing pillow? I think those are good for hugging :D It sounds like you are ready. So glad you husband shocked back to normal.

Thank you guys for all your suggestions. I had the last of my pre-op retesting today and everything is fine. :banana I'm a go on Thursday barring anything else getting in the way.

Ryan I had that sandpaper and alcohol thingy today! Ouch! Turned out okay though so I guess the irritation was worth it.

Three more days and counting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
