Here's a link to my recipe for my favorite Mexican puree dish. I literally lived on this stuff for weeks and weeks when Frankensleeve would not tolerate anything else.

key lime "pie":

1 small box s/f lime Jello (could use another flavor if you like - have strawberry in the fridge right now)

1.5 cups of greek yogurt

2 scoops unflavored Protein powder

1/4 cup Water

bring the Water to a boil and dissolve your Jello in there - stir it around some so it doesn't clump on the bottom. While that cools a little, mix up your yogurt and Protein Powder.

Toss in the jello and mix with a wisk until smooth. put in a container and refrigerate until set.

Each 1/2 cup serving has about 23gm Protein :) Is it key lime pie? no. is it close? yeah.

Another one that I just came up with, cause I wanted something other than Jello for lunch: Resse cup milk :)

1 cup fairlife skim milk (or regular skim)

1 packet carnation instant Breakfast s/f chocolate

2 tablespoons PB2 Protein powder

shake well - gives you 23gms Protein per 8oz.

My favorites were chicken with non fat gravy and non fat cottage cheese with sugar free Jello

I'm in the soft foods stage and I'm loving my crustless quiche. I made this pre-surgery quite often. From my calculations it has 12g of Protein per serving (makes 9 servings).

Crustless Quiche

12 oz. low fat cottage cheese

3 well beaten eggs

1 package frozen broccoli (10 oz microwave steam in bag kind)

1/2 c. shredded cheese (I use Colby Jack)

1/2 c. frozen chopped onions

6 oz. mini chopped ham cubes

6 oz. jar mushrooms, drained

Salt and pepper to taste

Cook broccoli according to package directions then chop into very small pieces (I use a hand chopper or my mini food processor). Mix all ingredients together and pour into an 8x8 glass baking dish. Bake at 350 for 45 to 1 hour (until firm).

You may use other veggies or meats than those listed. It is very versatile. I often use the Jimmy Dean pre-cooked turkey sausage (though haven't tried it since surgery). I have never frozen it before but will probably try that, as it would take me 2 weeks to eat 9 servings and I don't want to waste it. It's too yummy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
