Bullwinkle 1 Posted May 29, 2007 I was banded May 4th, and will have my first fill this week -- May 31st. I hafta go straight to work after the fill, and from things I've read on these boards, I could experience lots of things. I'm scared and nervous that I will be running for the bathroom to throw up after drinking sips of Water. Or, that my stomach will be making all sorts of noises. I'm not so worried about the noises. I am, however, worried about running to the bathroom a lot. I MUST be at work that day, since I have month-end duties that MUST be done that day. I truly am worried that I'll be sick and spend the majority of the day miserable. Am I worrying needlessly?
COLLECTOR 0 Posted May 29, 2007 I GOT MY FIRST FILL TODAY. 1cc AND CAME STRAIGHT TO WORK. I am to be on liquids 2 days but I fill fine. I know everyone is different, but so far no problems. I think if you can't get Water down at Doc office they will not let you leave until unfill a little and you can swallow.
Betsyjane 2 Posted May 30, 2007 Not to worry. After the fuill, they will probably give you a bottle of Water to drink before you leave, to make sure everything is going down OK. And they usually start with very small fills. Chances are you'll wonder what you were ever nervous about. Fills are typically no big deal. Remember people come to this board when things go wrong. You just don't hear that for the other 99% of folks, there wasn't a problem.
reqgoddess 0 Posted June 7, 2007 I had a slight discomfort because i have a sit down job and the port is on the side (for me). But nothing bad. I was more scared then i needed to be. When I went for my second, much better because I wasn't afraid of he unknown (lol). Again, slight discomfort due to position of my port, worked all day both days :-) Once you get busy, you don't even remember you had it done.
