? About Genepro unflavored

Recommended Posts

It will turn Water cloudy and changes the taste. However I use it in almost everything else. I put it in my milk with Kashi, mixed into my fried eggs, in my Green Giant Steamers (veggies). It blends really well and it mostly undetectable. ;)

I've not tried it in Water but I've mixed it with just about everything else (including hot Decaf coffee) and it's virtually undetectable.

I had surgery in September and since October I have used no other Protein supplement but GENEPRO. My surgeon approved it and my NUT researched it because I was concerned about comments I had read here, and she said the peptide was completely appropriate. It's the only whey product I can ingest without gagging from either the smell, taste, or both. I got the numbers back from my blood tests on the 20th and every number was within normal range, including Protein. My surgeon was very happy with my numbers.

Let us know how it worked in Water and Benefiber.

Best of luck,

Carol

I have never mixed it with Water. I have mixed in nearly everything else. You can read and hear a lot of negative but I love it. In the past when I have had surgery my hair fell out so I was expecting it to this time, but my Protein has stayed high and none of my hair has fell out .....in fact I think it is thicker and has more body. It has worked out great for me!!! I drink it with Crystal Light.

I didn't buy it for any of those claims - I didn't even realize they claimed any of that hogwash, to be honest... I bought it because so many friends raved about the lack of taste in their foods/drinks.

Thanks for the input everyone, I'll hold off on adding it to my Water :)

I guess it really depends on the individual's taste buds. I tried it with Water, with crystal light and it made the crystal light taste different. I ended up mixing it body fortress vanilla powered Protein and used it all up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
