24-36 inches?!

Recommended Posts

The weather report this morning was possibly 10 inches of snow in the city. I was out and about much of the day and around 5ish, I wandered into the grocery store for a couple of things and it looked like they were giving away the food. Lines were out the door and I knew it had to be related to the weather so I picked up my tuna and salad fixings and went home to see what was going on.

Blizzard warning and 24-36 inches of snow expected from Central Jersey on East. My admin called our group to tell us the Senior Director has said that we should work from home tomorrow and Tuesday. I'm figuring I'll be working from home on Wednesday as well if this is as bad as they are touting. I know the weather folk can be dramatic but I have a feeling this is going to be a real pain in the neck.

For those in the path of this storm, stay warm and stay safe.

I am in Massachusetts. They are calling for 24+ inches of snow, Monday evening through Tuesday. One weather person called the storm historic. Well, I hope not. I was in the "Blizzard of 78", 48 inches of snow and the area was paralyzed for a week!

But if the normal accuracy of the weatherman prevails, we'll be fine! LOL

I read the title of this post and thought, gowalking got the waistline measurements backwards. I'm sure she meant it used to be 36 inches and now it's down to 24.

I thought the same thing about the title of the post as I am planning in getting new bras soon. 44C down 42 then 40 and now I really need a 38. Just like the jeans sizes -- down, down, down.

Now, as to the weather -- yikes! We live in rural NH and are always prepared for this kind of thing. But really? Must we?

Whatever the weather, I love having a dimmed appetite. I still obsess over food prep and presentation. I cook, a lot. But these day I just have a little taste and that's that. Heaven!

I am in northern NJ (Bergen County) and I'm also hoping its not as bad as they say. It feels like the kids just went back to school from winter vacation, and darnit mommy needs quiet with her coffee! lol Well that and electricity and internet not getting knocked out would be a plus!

im just south of boston and we are expected t hit the 2 to 3 foot mark. it is going to cost me a days pay to have my driveway plowed and a single path shoveled to my door. butthats after the storm on wednesday. SO all i hope is that we dont lose power, otherwise its going to be real cold and i just stocked my freezer with lots of Protein and really dont want to see everything spoil. sigh.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
