BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 2, 2015 I'm still only a week out but even 2 tsps of cream of wheat make me feel sick I had a different protocol. I was on full liquids for the first 2 weeks post op. I couldn't have cream of wheat or oatmeal until week

BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 2, 2015 My doctor has a specific protocol; 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks purees, 2 weeks soft foods, then everything as tolerated. I had no issues with any foods I tried. I think the 2 weeks full liquids provided sufficient time for things to heal so eating was never painful or uncomfortable for me. I've tolerated everything I've tried. I've been a very compliant patient and just had an easy time of it.

Peace Love & Sleeve 27 Posted February 6, 2015 I'm 10 days and still can't keep any Protein Shakes in. .I can't stand them. I tried eggs today and could not keep them down. it's hard for my to think I'll eat normal again someday
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 6, 2015 @@Peace Love & Sleeve - It's a little early to eat eggs. As for the Protein Shakes, I found most of them far too sickly sweet. Initially I would Water them down and load them up with ice. It took much longer to drink them, but I could at least tolerate them. Finally I found unflavored Protein Powder by Isopure. I can mix that with yogurt or even soups/broth.
Peace Love & Sleeve 27 Posted February 6, 2015 I had cream of wheat for Breakfast 3tsps and I couldn't keep it down today
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 6, 2015 @@Peace Love & Sleeve - Are you supposed to be eating that at 10 days out? I was on liquids for 2 weeks before things like cream of wheat were allowed. You tummy is still healing. It may not be ready to handle that. What did your nutritionist recommend? Did they give you a list of foods to eat?
