Not yet, I will be 6 weeks out on thurs and waiting for my next orders when I see the doctor on Monday the 2nd. Right now my vegis are canned or like a baked sweet potato.

Aren't you allowed to eat fresh vegetables???

I am 15 days out and couldn't be more pleased. For me, this was much easier than anticipated. The first couple days were rough and I did get a bit nauseous but after that, everything went down too smooth. I can eat about 4oz of anything at this point.

I progressed my diet based on what I felt my body could handle. I am now on soft foods and eat around 800 calories per day. I was so afraid that I would never enjoy food again or be able to eat good food. I had way too many "last meals" prior to surgery and put on an extra 15lbs....dumb dumb!!

I still eat great food, just much less. My hw was 254. Surgery weight 237 and 230 today. I was depressed about not losing too fast but in the past week, I have lost 3 inches off my bust and waist and 1 inch from that booty! I burn about 150 calories a day walking. I feel better than normal!!!

@@shawnee1973 HI there, can you please give an example of what you eat in one day that reaches 800 calories on soft foods? I am struggling here and barely make it to 400 calories and I am on my 16th day.

Hi Pac-woman. My typical day starts with cream of wheat in morning (4oz), some type of Soup for lunch (4-6 oz), usually a cream but I do pieces of soft chicken and potato, and maybe some tuna and mayo for dinner. In between I may have Greek yougurt, fudgesicle, or sugar free pudding. And I try to get in a shake and/or a shot of Protein. The shots of protein are 200 calories but 50gm of protein. I track everything on my fitness pal and eat until I reach my goals. I don't always make it but I did notice that once I was able to eat more, I'm losing much better. Hope this helps!

@@shawnee1973 Great thanks! I am on my fitness pal too under pugboston. Can we be friends? It would be helpful to try some of the things you are doing to see if I can increase. I had my follow up today and apparently, I am in starvation mode. But, they want me to focus on Water right now.....

Absolutely. I tried to add you but not sure how. Lol. My name is shawnee69 on my fitness. I definitely need to work in my Water intake as well. I only get a couple of 16oz bottles in per day. I have never been a big water drinker but I'm trying...I just forget to drink!

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and I am not entirely sure I made the right decision. It has just been a rough road. Tomorrow is my birthday and all I want to do is stay in bed. This has been so hard.

I'm almost 6 months out and I am so pleased I did this each and every day. However, I had almost no complications, other than the normals ones (hair loss, Constipation, acid reflux-which I had before anyways).

I could have never done this on my own and I was spiraling down a deep dark rabbit hole before I had surgery.

I was aprehensive right after surgery - couldn't believe I cut out a perfectly good and healthy part of my body. But as I got better and healed, I felt better. I am sure this will come in time for you.

I am 3 1/2 months out and most days I am very happy about my surgery but the last 2 days have been difficult in that I have had too much to eat. I had a turkey wrap for lunch today that 2 hours later still feels like I am going to burst. I should have only eaten 1/2 of it but my old habit fell into place and I the whole thing. Now I am miserable. I did the same thing last night and was miserable for hours. Tonight I am only going to have a Protein shake because I over did it on calories. It make me depressed wondering why did I have surgery if I still want to eat like this. I am going to have have a good talk with myself.

I am 5 months out and just now getting a really good grasp at looking at how much food there is, figuring out how much I can safely eat without causing myself discomfort, and only eating that amount. This is especially useful when I go out to eat, because the portions are so huge. I'll look at the whole plate, figure out what percentage of it I can actually eat, section out that amount and eat it, then get a to go container for the rest. Up until very recently, I was still overestimating how much I could eat and making myself sick/uncomfortable. It's a process, but you will get there!

I am 9 weeks post op and I'm not sure how I feel. I have only lost 24 lbs since surgery. I think I have a lot of head hunger which is hard. I am struggling through every day right now because I think I am hungry all the time. I can eat more than most people and I am very confused. I wish you luck and hope that I can find a better ground then where I am at now. Happy Birthday and hang in there.

I am 3.5 months out and still have buyers remorse. I love the progress I have made and the compliments are great too. I just struggle with some of the foods I miss, and I guess that is the food addiction I will always have. It definitely gets much much better and as others said, you are dealing with a major post op period. Give it some time and you will come around! Find some of the great things that go with your new lifestyle and embrace it!

Yes, I have regrets.

It sucks that I don't enjoy food anymore. I'm sorry that I can't eat even half a normal amount of food without feeling sick or even vomiting.

But I don't regret the surgery overall.

If you're considering the surgery, you can think of it like I did: a variety of sucky options. Option A: you work your ass off, feel hungry and cranky all the time, lose weight, and probably gain it back plus more (statistically). Option B: surgery. It hurts, you still have to do exercise, you don't enjoy food as much (if at all), and it's easy to make yourself sick, but the weight will come off with a much higher likelihood of staying off. Option C: Stay fat, enjoy food.

There is no choice where you get to enjoy as much as you want of all the foods you love and read books all day in your chair and be thin.

You have to pick which sucky thing you can put up with -- being fat in a society that really hates fat people (never mind if they're the majority) and accepting the possible health detriments that seem to go along with that, being sick sometimes and not being able to enjoy food, or being hungry and grouchy all the time and working out hard for the rest of your life.

Sorry if that sounds negative. I feel like it's realistic. And I really don't regret having the surgery. I couldn't succeed long-term with regular dieting and exercise, and I didn't want to be fat anymore. To me, making myself sick by accident a few times a month and never really enjoying my food seems a small price to pay.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
