Hello. I had my surgery on December 23. Today officially makes one month and I'm introducing foods. But mainly eat Protein and vegetables. This is a little personal but I need help. I go to the bathroom all day. It's embarrassing. What can I do to slow this down? Honestly. Getting dressed to go to a function has my visiting the restroom 4times within the hour. Help?!?! Sorry for the details.

I wish I could relate. First....pee or poop? If it's peeing, good! Water is flushing the fat out of your tissue. I don't drink enough that's my problem. I pee two maybe three times a day.

I'm with you.... Well, sorta. For the last twelve years I've had what I can only think of as dumping syndrome, only I didn't have the surgery to go with it and it doesn't have to be high sugar or high fat food to send me scrambling to the bathroom hoping I make it. I dont go nearly as often as you, I only go right after I eat but that's often enough for me lol. Have you noticed if it's right after you eat or drink that you have to go? No doc has ever been able to figure mine out, I've just learned to deal and hope it gets better after surgery. I wish I could offer you some pointers, just try not to eat or drink heavily if you are in public or not close to a restroom. That's my only real trick. Talk to your Doc as soon as you can, hopefully he can get you straight again. It's possible that you are not getting enough of one nutrient or another, or even to much of something. Maybe try logging your foods for a few days in a tracker that counts different Vitamins and nutrients, see if you have a deficit or abundance of something. Spark people. Com has a great tracker that tracks just about everything under the sun if you tell it to. Good luck, hope it all comes out in the end (bad pun intended lol) ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
