I am in my 5th week post gastric sleeve. I have flem that I vomit all the time and I always end up having spit in my mouth. When I eat, I get frustrated because I feel like I don't know what I should eat because sometimes the food stays down and sometimes it doesn't. I feel very weak with not a lot of energy and have not gone number 2 in about a week. I just started taking nexium to help me during the day but my stomach still feels like acid is in it. I'm very frustrated and going in and out of the hospital has not helped. So frustrated

what does your surgeon say about this? might need something strong then nexium? sorry your having this issue. it would be frustrating. we all react differant an yes I have to take nexium for mine also. as far as weakness I was 5 months getting my strength back. its major surgery an it takes time to really get back to normal maybe longer. my internists told me to give it at least 6 months to heal inside an get inner strength. he was right. I am now 6 months out . the first 3 to 4 months I was still learning an getting things working right. I would go a wk between BM bc we arent eating much. did this for months also. have you added Miralax to your Water maybe?? hang in there..Im curious to see what surgeon said.

The phlegm and vomiting are from eating too fast. We have to eat super snails pace slow. You can try the Eat Slower app or simply take a tiny bite. Wait 2 full minutes. Then take another tiny bite. Again wait 2 full minutes, and so on.

As for feeling weak you may not be getting enough nourishment with the vomiting. Are you taking Vitamins and supplements? Are you getting in all your fluids?

Have the doctor prescribe something or take double the dosage of the OTC stuff.

For the Constipation you can try a variety of things: colace, ducolax, miralax, benefiber, prunes, prune juice, psyllium powder, flax powder, Metamucil.

I know i am not getting enough Vitamins. I will try to double up on them to make sure i dont pass out anywhere. I am trying to get accustomed to rating at a super slow pace, but it is so frustrating. I am going to the store today to get some Constipation relief.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
