Gateway is a center of excellence I believe

I had my surgery at St. Luke's Medical Center with Dr. Juarez. I went through their Bridges program and I had the best experience ever! An amazing surgeon and staff. They are a center of excellence.

That's where I'm thinking about going. I have already done my 6months supervised weight loss, my nut. visit, and my phsy visit. I just needed a comorbidity to be approved and now I have one; sleep apnea. I just can't get them to answer my emails at honor health.

If the weather wasn't so nasty, maybe we could! I am sticking with my elliptical for now, lol.

So tomorrow is the big day, eh?

I'm in North Phoenix. I'm scheduled to have my sleeve surgery performed by Dr Stevenson through Evolve Weight Loss. Does anyone have experience with them?

I used Dr Sprunger. There were a few posts that did not like him but I loved him. I consulted with 3 different doctors and he was the only one that actually appeared to cared about my personal goals and that I actually succeeded. Because his office is small, there is no additional support within his office. If you want a NUT at your finger tips or a support group, he will not be the best choice for you. I didn't want that level of support so for me he was perfect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
