My liquid stage was Protein Drinks, Water, sugar free Popsicles, broth, and plain yogurt. Good luck on your journey!!! Take one day at a time and you will do great!

I made strained Soups like shrimp bisques, cream of chicken. Made egg drop last night. smoothies. Unjury chicken Soup Protein Powder is great. I like the dannon fit toasted coconut yogurt. Unflavored Protein powder is good. Synthrax Nectars are good for fruity options. I've not been into chocolate lately. May give it a whirl today. Just being open to my taste buds right now . I've not have any nausea or vomiting...I think they are doing a good job for now.

Strained Soups and Tomato Soup. Trying to keep from doing things that made me feel triggered to eat like watching tv. Taking it very easy, some good books to read. Family and friend and cleaned out cabinets and fridge so that I didn't have old foods stating me in the face.

Head hunger was hard for me. It's so habitual for us to eat and it's a pattern in our lives and one had to break that cycle. Kind of like biting your nails. Repetitive habits take time to go away. Try to find things to keep your mind off of those activities.

As much as you can keep your mind off of food the better.

I liked the Protein drinks, that are probably the best food for you the first week. Warm broth and tea, very light food. Greek yogurt was much too thick for me, I prefer the sugar free fat free vanilla activia yogurt.

There just isn't much variety I'm afraid. It's best to start letting food go and keeping yourself distracted

sugar free Popsicles were the big life saver for me. My surgeon sends you home to the pureed diet. My fave pureed Soup was Southwest Black Bean Soup (Progresso). I still eat a lot of Beans. Also,

premier Protein shakes remain an important food to keep the Protein levels up.

Thank you for the heads up!!

I shall do a bit of online shopping when I'm on my way out then!

The one thing I'm confused about is 'no added sugar' stuff - can you eat it?? Like a no added sugar angel delight or something (I know not in the liquid stage)

No added sugar doesn't mean sugar free. You need to check the back. It's a tricky marketing ploy to make things seem healthier. We didn't add any sugar to this already sweetened chocolate ice cream!!! Read the labels!!

No added sugar is important but be sure to check the sugar that is naturally present. Per my guidelines, it should be less than 10 grams/serving.

I did well through out my phases, and hunger has NOT been an issue. I am grateful for that. Like

mentioned above, the unjury shakes are great choices, and the premier Protein ones are ready to goand 30 grams of Protein. I think the homemade Soups were my biggest treats, like carrot, and

butternut squash. I had some smoothies with yogurt, kale, nectar Protein shake, and blueberries.

Have fun with it, its for life. Everyday I find myself in situations or just my thoughts that

smack me upside the head with "I can't eat like that anymore". Good Luck to you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
