Lap band fills mexican surgery (DFW Area)

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know any doctors that take lap band done in Mexico without requiring your chart? Also the prices? My doctor went up in price and is now charging 250 since I just had a baby I know I am going to be needing a few more fills.

I am on a yahoo group called "mexicanbandsters" that lists fill doctors in every state. I will copy them and paste them in here for you to have. You will need to call and verify costs, etc. as the information may not be up to date, although I did update it a few months ago. I have used 3 of these places for fills and they all use fluoroscopy with the fill, which I insist on having anyway. I've gone to nova solutions (which I didn't care for but know a few people who thought they were great), dr. stephanie in Bryan (she does fills like my Mexican doctor and was banded in Mexico by Dr. Sanchez (not my doc). Recently I needed a slight unfill and went to Dr. Jayaseelan but didn't meet him. Someone trained in his office did the unfill. I was a bit disappointed because I thought he was going to do it. Guess he was in surgery or something.

My Friend And I Both Had Surgery In Monterrey Mexico In Feb. We Were Using Dr. Maese In Dallas For Our Fills. Last Friday My Friend Went To A New Dr. In Gilmer, Texas Because She Had Not Noticed Any Restriction Since Her Last Fill To 3.0 In A 9.75 Band. After The Dr. In Gilmer X-rayed Her She Said That Her Port Had Flipped And There Was No Way Possible That Dr. Maese Could Have Given Her A Fill And That The Fill That She Had Had Previously Was No Longer In Her Band. She Had Zero Restriction. Needless To Say She Is Very Upset With Dr. Maese In Dallas. She Contacted His Office And They Refused To Refund Her Money For The Fill.

search for -The Bariatric. When you enter the sight go to forum. Dr. R's staff has made a section just for fill doctors in the US by city/ state that will take all patients from Mexico. Congrats on the baby!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
