Aribay1 198 Posted January 22, 2015 12 weeks out and lately I've been noticing no matter how little I drink I feel like I need to pee I remembered in the beginning I wouldn't pee for hours. I try to hold it in for as long as I can because it's usually just the sip I just took that makes me want to GO. I see my surgeon next week but I just was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
scstxrn 213 Posted January 22, 2015 Protein and low carb makes your body release Water... If you had edema, peeing is a good sign. If you find you are drinking way more than you used to, that can be a problem... If it hurts or burns when you pee, or you feel like you can't completely empty your bladder.. Those can be signs of a uti. On the other hand, based on what you are describing... You got used to being dehydrated, now you are able to drink more... So based on info given, probably not a problem. Be interesting to know what your doc says

But I usually just hold it in until it builds up to the point that yeah its time to go haha.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted January 22, 2015 I would definitely check about a UTI. If you only pee a few drops when you do go, it's highly likely a UTI. Real cranberry juice (you can Water it down) is effective to clean out the pipes if the infection isn't too far along.
laurenella82 625 Posted January 22, 2015 You also probably shouldn't hold it. Holding it can cause problems as well.
