RhondaF 9 Posted July 10, 2016 Did anyone freeze some meals before surgery? I was thinking of doing so for at least the 1st week or so...thoughts? I have froze a few things and Wil buy things my hubby can easily make for my son and him. I don't want to have to cook for at least a week. bellasmommy99 48 Posted July 11, 2016 Here is my thing. I have 3 children and a husband. I have almost missed dinner the last week or so because I am not hungry so I don't feel like cooking. At about 6:30, the kids start hunting me down to find out what is for dinner. We have had fend for yourself more. Nights than I can count on the last month. It will have to get better when school starts. Feeding the children is in my job description. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted July 11, 2016 I cook for my family and it is no problem. When I was on puréed stage I made a lot of low fat crockpot recipes because they purée well. Some go to websites for healthy delicious recipes are Www.emilybites.com Www.skinnytaste.com Everything I have made from these websites have been amazing. My whole family loves it! JCP 619 Posted July 11, 2016 It has helped me cook healthier for my husband and me. I cook lean Protein and a vegetable. I eat out of a small plate for myself and my husband eats on a normal dinner plate. He eats less than he did before my surgery. I think we are just both more aware. Candygyrl 637 Posted July 12, 2016 Not really. I'm 10 days post op and still on liquids. I cook for my family just the same. This morning I made them french toast and turkey sausage and ill be making spaghetti and garlic bread tonight. I have no issue with it. I don't cook that often so when I have had to cook for them it's been fine. I wonder if that will change as i transition to solids. I imagine i may have to eat differently from them sometimes like if it's a pizza night, I'll have to have something different and I'm ok with that.
NewBeginning2016 63 Posted July 20, 2016 I had no problem with cooking and not being able to eat. I would tell myself you've had it before and know what it tastes like. You'll have it again lol. VSG 6/17/2016
