Hi... quick question. I have really no information on what we can take as far as over the counter stuff. I've heard that gas-X helps with the pain in your shoulders and abdomen... and I was wondering if we can take that... or tums? I was told no advil. What else can we/can't we take?

I took Gas-X with no problems at all. I think tums would be okay, too, but maybe you should check with your surgeon. Each surgeon is so different--I asked mine about the no Advil thing and he said it was fine to take it, so go figure. The best thing to do would be to call your surgeons office and check with them.

I was told as long as it didn't cause ulcers, I could take it. So nothing in the N SAID catagory. (aleve, advil, asprin) I am fine with tylenol and gas-x. If I have a question I ask my pharmacist if the medicine will hurt my stomach. ~Mandy
