Kitt3000 757 Posted January 20, 2015 Not un unusual, your body is in the healing adjusting phase. It can take five or more adjustment fills to get where you want to go. Each fill gives you the opportunity to adjust your eating habits, size of bite, time between bites, length of meal, quantity of meal , quality of your meal, no eating between meals, eating your allotted amount of Protein first, then veggies. There are variations between doctors and fills. Some give larger/smaller amounts, some frequency of giving fills. Each one of us is different, each persons regime will be somewhat different. Try not to focus only on the scale, I know that is hard, but instead, use your energy to plan your food choices and amounts carefully, you need to move, exercise of some sort, you cannot out exercise a poor choice of diet. It's ok. You are going to do fine if you give the process a chance to work. Remember, this is not a race to the finish line (again, I know we all want instant results) , but a new way of life. The band does not work as quickly as some other weight loss surgeries, patience and persistence should get you where you want to be. All the best!
amponder 396 Posted January 20, 2015 you were banded a month before me, I gained 2lbs between surgery and my 1st fill I have since had another fill, how often are you seeing your Dr.? don't worry too much about a weight gain though like the person above said it's a marathon not a race, and there are days when I can retain as much as 5 or 6lbs of Water. Don't give up.
twztdzsgrl 2 Posted January 20, 2015 I've gained 8 in a month. I see my dr every 4 weeks. But I have cancer and they want me down 60 lbs by april 6th. :-( for another procedure.
amponder 396 Posted January 20, 2015 @@twztdzsgrl i am sorry I was looking off to the side and read you gained 2lbs, not that 8 is really horrible but given your situation I can understand your frustration. My aunt when she had cancer, took some treatments that actually caused her to gain weight. Have you talked to your Dr. maybe he can see you before 4 weeks is up if you explain the situation. Hope it works out for you.
lisacaron 5,075 Posted January 20, 2015 @@twztdzsgrl I hope you are feeling OK, and I'm sorry to read about the added trouble you have going on. I am not expert, but let me first say the best thing you can do for yourself is to take a deep breath and keep on doing it any time the need arises. A good place to start might be to go back to those very band basics. Go back to some liquid nutrition. Schedule out the times you are going to eat and what you are going to eat. Stick to that rigid schedule for as long as you can and keep your nutrients high. Talk to your Dr. and see what they advise, maybe they could help you out with a medically supervised diet during this phase so you can get to the next phase for surgery. My best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery!! Please let us all know how you are doing!! We are here to help and support you!

♥LovetheNewMe♥ 1,216 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) I am 4 years post op and I can only speak for what helped me continually lose during my journey. Always eating Protein first, staying away from sliders, not eating something just because it would go down, exercising and drinking lots of Water. The journey is hard and it takes time to change bad habits but with patience and perseverance you can do this. Yo-yoing is common and can be frustrating just like staying at the same weight no matter what you do. It took us years to pack on the pounds and it takes years to get it off. Good luck to you and hang in there. PS: I am at goal, it took me 2 years to loose from 262 to 122. Today I weigh 130's. I overshot my goal and needed to gain some back because I was too thin! Never thought I would say that do it is possible. Edited January 24, 2015 by ♥LovetheNewMe♥
