Is anyone paying full price cash pay for their surgery? I am because my insurance doesn't cover it. How much are you roughly paying?

There are numerous posts about this. Many people tend to go to Mexico it's around 4-5k

Texas I've seen around 5/6

Everywhere else is all over the board

I was self pay. Had surgery here in US. I think I paid around 25000 when it was all said and done. Luckily, I had a family member give me a small portion of it. I then used a credit card that had zero interest for 15 months and am paying it off monthly. Even though it was very expensive, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

6 months after surgery down 120 lbs!

The OCC in Mexico is about 4 k ...great reviews , center of expelled and international acclaim. If my insurance denies me I am headed there

I had my VSG surgery in Tijuana one year ago. I paid $4400 and that included everything but the airfare to San Diego. 5 nights (Marriott night before surgery, 2 nights in hospital, 2 more nights at Marriott.) I had a great experience and am looking into returning for breast lift with augmentation.

My best to you in whichever location you decide upon. You will not regret having the surgery!

I'm in El Paso Texas with a bariatric center of excellence. Dr. Lara with Del Sol. I'm cash paying at $10,500. There is a Mexico option that is like 30 miles from my house in Juarez Mexico that they said their price is $6,800. Even though I have checked out all the credentials with the doc in Jtown, I'm staying state side because it's 3 days in Jtown and I would have no one to watch my kiddos. I'm also insanely picky about doctors and I have already met Dr. Lara and really liked him.

@@bamp62 I bank at Bank of America and they have one. I'm not quite done paying off my credit card so I researched transferring the balance to a new card. US Bank also has a card offer with 0 interest. It is worth it for me to pay the transfer fee and transfer the balance.

Best of luck!!

My doctors office in Texas offers self pay-it's $14,000. I had a major run around with insurance & thought of self pay at one point-it took us over a year to get approved, 2 denials & finally got approved. I was sleeved 2 weeks ago.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
