So, about two years ago I bought this house with a pool...yeah, it would be nice to not freak out every time swimsuit time comes rolling around. I'm always trying stuff myself into something random and horrible and during parties instead relaxing and enjoying friends I usually had been so focused on food and stuffing my face.....ready to let that go.....

I never thought that I would ever run again. I started out at 320 and have lost 140lbs. I can run 6 miles without stopping now! If I can do it I know you can too! Good luck on your journey :)

CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES SHOPPING!!

Walking into a regular size store and not getting looked at funny like I don't belong

Being the "hot" friend for once

Having the energy for simple things like good hygiene and makeup

Wiping front to back. Gross but so true.

Having better sex. My Belly always got in the way a

Not having rashes under my belly that stunk

Being able to shave and see my bikini line

Being able to put my clothes on standing up

Shopping in the regular clothing section and all the beautiful fashions

Wearing heels again

No more back and leg and hip and foot pain, no more need for medication

Not sweating profusely. In the winter! Being able and needing to wear a sweater and scarf

Sitting with my legs crossed and also with them pulled up to my chest.

Wearing my diamond rings without having to get them sized

Opening a fitness club and being a good before and after story

Setting a good example for my children

Being able to take them for a walk or hike

Being an inspiration for others struggling with obesity and food dependence

Not having people and even strangers suggest diets for me (and also being careful not to be one of those assholes)

My mother will quit freaking about about everything I put in my mouth

Saving so so so much money on food

Learning to cook better and more creative dishes for my family

Not worrying my kids might be teased or ashamed of me

Walking on the beach in a bikini again or at least a swimsuit

Running without pain

Feeling strong and powerful and muscular

Not feeling less in shape than my 60 year old mother

Being able to pick up my 3 year old daughter

Having adventures with my kids and showing them the world

Having the world at my fingertips

Volunteering in my children's classrooms. I've always been soo afraid of the kids teasing my children about me that I don't volunteer. I've missed out on a lot now because of my being fat. This year promises to be different!

That is so touching it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing and I'm totally empathetic on how you feel. My kids friends would ask them " is your mommy going to have a baby?" My belly was so big they thought I was pregnant. It's so hard when our choices or medical issues affect our children. It's heartbreaking like nothing else.

@@bellabloom , I can't agree more. I had surgery over the kids winter break, when they went back they discussed what they did during their time, my baby, 6 yrs old, said "my mom had surgery so she can live longer" Right then I knew I made the right choice!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
