OK folks, I was sleeved 7/23/14 and I've hit a major stall. I was going along slow but steady but now I've been stuck at the same spot for almost a month! I'm down 66lbs and I know that's great but I just can't figure out how to get the scale moving again. I'm working out 4-5 days a week, getting my Protein. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks all!

It's a variety. I've been taking Zumba and Tabata classes which are an hour long. Those are Twice a week. When I don't have the class, I do 30-45 min on the elliptical & then a couple rotations on the weight machines. That's also twice a week. This is a lot more than I used to do but is it still not enough?

I hit a "stall" between 7 and 9 months. I was exercising a lot and getting my Protein. I wasn't tracking my calories however. So, I reverted to some of my poor eating habits- mainly, snacking and justifying it because I had worked out. I went back to tracking my calories (1200/day) and continued my exercise (boot camp class 1 hr, 5x/wk) and the weight started coming off again. This may not be the case for you, but it wouldn't hurt to think about your eating behaviors. It's so easy to revert back to those poor behaviors when it seems the critical time period post surgery (for me, the first 6 months) has passed.

I still track everything I'm eating. I'm lucky to get 1000 calories a day. I'm wondering if I'm not eating enough to support the work out schedule?

And then sometimes all you can do is stay the course and wait for the stall to pass. Our bodies are going to do what they are going to do, and if you are truly doing everything you should be doing, the stall will break eventually....

I was sleeved 06/12 and hit a major stall in November that lasted for a month. I thought I was doing everything right, but I will admit my Protein intake had fallen off a little, and although my carb intake was low, it had definitely increased. I wondered if this might be contributing to my stall, so I decided to go back to the beginning and spend a week on my old standby of Protein Shakes, tuna, eggs, etc. I don't know if that triggered the weight loss to start again, or it was just coincidental, but I lost 5lbs that week and although I went back to my "regular" diet right after, my weight loss has gone back to 2lbs per week for the last 3 weeks. I'm going to try it again next time I hit a stall and see if it works again. My weight loss has been fairly slow and I seem to hit more stalls than many others on here. I usually hit a one week stall after every 2-3 weeks of weight loss.

it sounds like you are doing a great job on the exercise side of the equation ... it sounds like your buddy is just adjusting ... what about clothes ... are you noticing any clothes getting baggy or big?

I spoke with a sleeve veteran of over 3yrs at a support meeting. She said when she hits a stall she goes on what she called the 5:2 . Two days a week she she goes back to high Protein and only 500 calories. The other 5days she eats between 700- 800 calories and eats as much no processed food as possible. She says that always kicks her metabolism into gear again.

I think I'm losing inches, clothes are still getting more loose. I'm just going to keep plugging away. I think I will try to add more Protein. I'm hitting my min goal but maybe I need more.

how much Protein are you getting daily ... my NUT encouraged me to shoot for 125 grams a day due to the workouts I am doing

I get 60-65 grams a day per what the Dr said. They know my exercise schedule but haven't said to increase it. Do you think that will help?

I am very early in the process, so, some veterans may be able to answer this better than me, but, I know to try and always hit my Protein goals as I would rather fill up on protein vs. carbs/fats ... doubling your protein will certainly change your diet and may boost your metabolism ... if you are doing that much exercise, your body definitely needs the protein in order to build the muscle

in the same boat. big stall for last 5-6 wks. getting 60-65 gram Protein daily also. my workouts had stalled so picked that back up this week. hang in there. the scale will start moving again. someone else recommended to me that if this continued, maybe to get an appt with my nut for a diet review. may consider that...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
