DevilAngela13 14 Posted January 19, 2015 I am seeing people write that their surgery is about 90 minutes long.... I am having a gastric sleeve done on February 16. I was told by my surgeon that it averages about 5 hours long. What about you?
PaulaleeB 88 Posted January 19, 2015 My surgery was 2&1/2 hrs long. Is your doc going to repair a hernia? Was it the doc who told you 5hrs?
FitnFabfor2014 358 Posted January 19, 2015 My Dr. told me about 3-4 hours. I went in at 10a and woke up at 2:30p in recovery. I didn't have any other surgeries with it. No complications. They did a leak test while I was under.
DevilAngela13 14 Posted January 19, 2015 Ok. I just reviewed my paper work 2-5 hours. I am not having any repairs done and a leak test will be performed as well. How are you all feeling?
FitnFabfor2014 358 Posted January 19, 2015 I feel great! I felt sore after my surgery. For me the first two weeks were hard. I couldn't wait to get the drain out! It went pretty fast and I couldn't imagine it would have been this successful! How are you feeling? When Is your surgery?

laurenella82 625 Posted January 19, 2015 I don't understand why people are going home with drains. I guess this is another indication of how each surgeon is different. My drain will come out before they discharge me.
PaulaleeB 88 Posted January 19, 2015 I never had a drain at all. I assume a leak test happened while I was under. I am 20days post op and it has been a very easy recovery.
DevilAngela13 14 Posted January 20, 2015 My doctor told me there will not be a drain. Different techniques I guess.
