Calleigh Cat 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Hello! I am just starting my journey and am 2 months away from surgery. I'm trying to start good habits now. I like to drink coffee and find that Decaf just isn't doing it for me. Half Caf is better but I'm looking for options. Does anyone know if the Starbucks Via or other green coffee products are acceptable post surgery? Does it have the same negative affects as regular caffeine on your stomach? BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 18, 2015 They still have the same amount of caffeine.
meps413 46 Posted January 18, 2015 Do you mean the coffee via, or the via refreshers? The coffee via is just micro ground Beans, so it would affect you the same way as traditional coffee. The via refreshers do have a green coffee extract, though the caffeine content is not as high as coffee. Personally, I'd be more worried about the sugar in those. Calleigh Cat 0 Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks for the responses! Yes, I meant the via refreshers...sorry for the confusion.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 19, 2015 They do contain caffeine. It doesn't sound like very much. You can decide for yourself. If your nutritionist is advising against caffeine, I'm sure they won't recommend it. From Starbucks website: Starbucks VIA Refreshers™ Very berry Hibiscus combines tangy blackberry with hints of hibiscus, sweet ginger and lemongrass, and pairs that with the natural energy from green coffee extract, from unroasted coffee Beans. It's a breakthrough in instant refreshment that tastes nothing like coffee. Light, juicy and thirst-quenching, with a natural boost of caffeine. Enjoy Starbucks VIA Refreshers™ wherever the moment takes you.
