I've officially been sleeved!!! My surgeon said everything went beautifully! I was not expecting the gas pain though! They also won't let me take any gas x. The nausea was unreal! I felt a little regret because of the pain but after some pain meds and nausea meds I felt good.

I was still pretty drugged up when I kept repeating, "What did I do to myself?" Lol

The first night was the hardest and I definitely feel way better today! I can't wait to start getting fit.

It felt so unreal to actually go through with everything and I feel so lucky my process only took a month and a few days rather than months or years.

Congratulations! I am 3 weeks out, had my surgery New Years Eve. The surgery was uneventful but post op a nightmare. They only used a short acting drugs for the surgery and I blew a vein on the way to my room and they could not find a new ones for 2 hours, so no pain meds. Believe me, I was wondering what I had done to myself. That made getting on top of the pain and nausia a lot harder and I had to stay an extra day. Then discovered one of the anti nausea drugs causes anxiety. So here I am, trying to think about going home and having a full blown panic attack. The amazing nurse got benadryl, hit my IV and 15 minutes later I was dressed and ready to go. After all of that nothing could be a problem. Lol. I saw my doctor at 1 week and had lost 15 pounds. Next day had my hair done, which is a three hour process, then 2 days later took my dogs to be groomed and went shopping( no clothes yet just household stuff). But all three of these trips require an hours drive round trip. I cannot believe I had the energy and stamina that soon after surgery. I am trying to get in a very small workout on my elliptical machine every other day. Exercise is my downfall because I have serious back problems. As everyone on here says, we are all different and our stories are different but finding this site has been a godsend for me because I live in a rural area with no support groups nearby. I hope you continue feeling so well. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

I glad you gave so much energy. Every time I drink something I have to burp afterwards. Did you have that problem and I had a hernia repair as well?

I was constantly reminded to sip everything when they did give me something but no I didn't have any burping until I was given puree foods. I had to relearn how to eat until chewing slower became second nature.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
