Week 7 Post-Op Weigh In

Recommended Posts

Well the bad news is I didn't see a great deal of movement on my scale this week - in fact the only movement I had went up slightly - 300g, Taking me back to 12kg loss total!!!

The good news is that I saw my dietician this morning and have been well assured that this is actually normal. I clearly need to have another fill which is scheduled for next Friday.

I was really bummed about my weight gain yesterday and thank goodness for some very close friends of mine that are there for me all the way and supporting me because I really needed it yesterday.

Today I have a much clearer mind and totally understand that it's a process!!!!!

To hold steady or to experience a slight increase in weight is completely normal during this stage. You're body just went through major surgery and is still recovering. This could mean you're holding onto a lot of Fluid, etc. Hang in there and keep following your Dr.'s instructions to the T and you WILL see the weight come off, it has no other choice. Congrats on your recent surgery and be sure to keep us posted on how you're doing!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
