Hospital Angeles (Tijuana) - CLOSING?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I want to use Dr. Ramos Kelly and I am in the same boat. Hospital Angeles raised the price for him to $7400 as well and he also no longer uses Mi Doctor and now is offering surgery at 2 places I can't get any reviews on.

Here is what I was told by Heath who works for Dr. Kelly

Dr. Kelly performs surgery out of 3 locations. The first 2 are full service hospitals and Clinica San Juan is a surgical center.

1. Angeles Hospital. The sleeve costs $7400 + $278.41 for Medical Tourism insurance
2. Hospital Del Prado. www.hospitaldelprado.com The sleeve costs $5900 + $278.41 for Medical Tourism insurance
3. Clinica San Juan. http://www.clinicasanjuan.com.mx The sleeve costs $4700 + $200.10 for medical tourism insurance
Dr. Kelly has all patients stay 2 days at each place before they go to the hotel for up to 2 additional days.

Hosp Angeles seems to be on par with comparable high end US specialty hospitals. I will be staying there 4 nites. Compared to other TJ facilities it is quite more expensive.

Almater Hosital in nearby Mexicali costs even more. I believe Dr. Wilhemly charges $8500 for 3 nites. It is supposed to be a very good hospital.

It's a tough choice but you have to decide what works best for you.

Money is the main reason why many of us are having surgery in Mexcico.

Dr. kelly is very good. Perhaps you can speak to him directly about the other facilities.

I like the idea of recuperating in a resort like terrific hospital in a foreign country but that is what I want and am willing to pay more for it

I truly like Dr. Ramos Kelly and Dr. Ariel Ortiz and want one of them to be my choice. I made a request to find out what the cost is for Dr. Ariel Ortiz today and hope to decide on who I want by mid week. I have to set a date soon but also am trying to apply for my passport card this week as well. I already got my loan from the lending club that only took 3 days and now its just getting to who I choose and where I feel safe going to.

Rocky1 when is your surgery?

Vsg with ortiz at OCC is 6500. I think it is the second option in TJ to Corvala and hospital Angels. Angeles probably thinks they can charge 1000 more because it is a real full scale hospital. I will stay at hospital angeles five nights.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
