I am over 5 mths out and I drink 2 cups in the mornings......takes me about 3hrs because I work from home and I nurse it...heat it up a few times. I also drink a cup in the evenings if I'm in the mood. My doc said that as long as it doesn't upset my stomach its fine.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I am a tea drinker. I drink 32oz in the morning and at least another 24-32oz throughout the day. All Decaf.< /p>

2 cups for me sipped slowly at my desk while I'm working away. I had coffee the day after surgery once my leak check was finished :) I love it specially in the cold winter months. I also sip warm tea at times.

I talked to my doctor about this at my last appointment. I have one half to 3/4 of a cup of regular every day. He said it was ok if my stomach could handle it. I'd just ask your doc and go with whatever s/he says.

I'm only 6 days post-op and enjoying my first cup of Decaf as we speak! My doc is fine with regular, but I don't want to aggravate my raw stomach. But believe you me, I'll be right back to my beloved coffee as soon as I'm up to it. ;)

I'm five months post-op and drink (typically) 1/2 cup in the morning with 1/2 cup hot skim milk.

Most I EVER drink is a full cup (a second 1/2 cup with a second 1/2 cup of hot skim milk).

No problems thus far.

I noticed I need to add very little sugar an no cream or nothing extra, I'm surprised how I have tolerated, I believe even better than Cristal light. .. because coffee counts as ur liquid intake ;-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
