Cody's mom 247 Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) I went out and had steak / lobster and a glass of Champagne with several friends, instead of birthday cake I had a mini birthday cupcake. I might have eaten only a few bites of each, but enjoyed it just the same. It's nice when you can share a meal and costs with someone. I was three months out from surgery! Happy Birthday in advance! hdd55146 29 Posted January 15, 2015 I've been wondering this as well. I was sleeved on 12/29 and my birthday is 1/28. I have no idea what to do to Celebrate. I'll only be 4 weeks post-op so I'll still be limited in what I can eat and drinking alcohol is out (which is typically how I celebrate). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy (early) birthday @Qtpie28!

katesuccess 990 Posted January 15, 2015 I was three months out and had already lost a good bit of weight, and was myself on vacation. I had family visiting that day, so happily cooked MY favorite dinner in a way I could enjoy eating it, and enjoyed the visiting even more than the food. Yes - definitely had cake, but I picked it out and made it what I really wanted - had a tiny piece and sent the rest home with everyone else. Gift-wise I asked for money to go the the good running store in town and be professionally fitted with running shoes - which I love!
Qtpie28 51 Posted January 15, 2015 Running shoes... I can't wait to run. I can't believe I just said that. ????
Cody's mom 247 Posted January 15, 2015 @@Qtpie28, I had prime rib two weeks after surgery, and believe me, it was the greatest thing in the world. All I can say is chew, chew, chew. But if that's too risky for you, there's some funky new runners out there that might hit the spot! Enjoy your birthday and enjoy your new life!
happymama2014 206 Posted January 15, 2015 I did steak, shrimp for New Years...just a few bites if meat cooked medium and chew chew then a few shrimp. Waited awhile then shared a few bites of my sons dessert. I have things if I want just a few bites compared to plates. Eat out much less because the fun is over so fast ! A few bites and done.
