edieparks 2 Posted May 27, 2007 Along with closing my 7 days a week dog grooming business 2 years ago and self paying for my band , I have had to try to cut some fat (lol) out of my budget. These are 2 sites I visit daily for tips. stretcher.com thriftyfun.com edie
Ambrosia 1 Posted May 27, 2007 Edie, I,too, am a self payer. I have a little left to pay off but have worked diligently and expect to be able to pay it off in under 6 months. I see you were a dog groomer. I am currently researching that field. I have been in the hospitality industry my entire life and would very much like to do something different for the second half of my life. Did you attend Nash Academy? Any tips or advice you can give me about his profession? Thanks very much and good luck with your continued success.
edieparks 2 Posted May 29, 2007 Hey AM, Yes I did attend Nash academy. It is a hard job but I love it. In my area you don't make alot of money. For example: $32 dollar groom. Give shop 1/2 Buy your own equipment Pay taxes Yikes huh? That is why I went part time 2 years ago. edie

WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted May 29, 2007 I wish more people would go into the grooming business. I have a 2.5 pound teacup poodle and we've been through 4 groomers. Nobody wants to work with my hyper neurotic little guy.
