tiffy122004 2 Posted January 15, 2015 Ok so I had my surgery on Jan 7 and still have not pooped!!! I have taken Miralax the last 4 days, and it am getting so nervous for when it does come ( if it ever does) I am getting 90 gr of Protein, 64oz of Water, and all my Vitamins. The surgery was a breeze but I developed a Large hematoma that is very painful so I am still taking pain meds. What do I do???? I am normally an every day kinda girl. Is this normal, anyone have any advice?

leanora27801 315 Posted January 15, 2015 Be careful when you take milk of magnesia! I took it and it snook up on me in my sleep, and let's say I almost had to change my sheets!
shellbell79 44 Posted January 15, 2015 I'm having crazy trouble pooping as well. Nothing really works. I cram in Protein, drink as much Water as humanly possible, take 2 senekot before bed and even lactulos.. You think I'd be a machine, nope. I really want to take bran buds in the am.. Any problem with that? I'm 2.5 months out..
wildGoose 207 Posted January 15, 2015 Smooth Move herbal tea. It really works better than everything, and I have tried them all.
MisforMimi 760 Posted January 15, 2015 I've heard people using Fiber gummies...
bellabloom 2,467 Posted January 15, 2015 Milk of magnesia. Start with half a dose. If no poop by the next day, take another half a dose. It works and it's not to harsh if you only take half.
brightlife0305 40 Posted January 15, 2015 My doc says Milk of Magnesia
Janice1968 92 Posted January 15, 2015 My Dr said to take 2 fiber tabs twice a day for the rest of my life. That's what I've done and have never had an issue. I am 3 months out.
anaxila 501 Posted January 15, 2015 I will second the endorsement of Smooth Move herbal tea. I was concerned that nothing was moving after surgery, as I am also an everyday kind of girl. The tea did just what I needed and it hasn't been a problem since the initial post-surgical bowel hiatus.
Cyr 16 Posted January 16, 2015 Need to try herbal tea and MIlknof Magnesia !! Surg 1/8/15 and no BM yet I know it needs to come out but since I'm on a Protein milk and liquid diet I'm unsure if my body needs it . Sigh
Susan33 18 Posted January 17, 2015 It may ght be weird to have a chat being about going piop byt I say it's fun. E all have something in common that its easier to chat with someone who you'll never meet compates to someone who you know/see

catdaddy 232 Posted January 17, 2015 You'll have to try different things until you find what works for you. I know want you're saying. (TMI) I thought I was going to have dig it out the first few times when I finally got to go. I now use a cap full of Miralax every day. Best of luck to you.
