PSRS520 75 Posted January 14, 2015 Wow! I'm finally on the other side!! I feel sad, happy all at the same time. I'm in a little bit of pain, it's bearable though. Don't like the gas pain too much, although today is much better than yesterday. I had 1 Protein Shake this am, but couldn't finish it. Trying my best to follow the books. Any tips would be great.... JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted January 14, 2015 Congratulations !! It should feel a little better, not worse, each day. If not, call your doctor. Don't wait. Stay off the scale. Post op weight goes up a little, even a couple of weeks out. Weigh at your doctor's office until your first fill. Be gentle with yourself. You've traumatized your body and have put it through some extreme stuff, and it's not over yet. Emotions will be all over the map. Give yourself permission to feel them. Walk walk walk. Karate chops to the neck and shoulders from a pal help get the gas pain out. Finally, dream and dream big !! My life is completely different than it was the day I had surgery ten months ago. I can walk, I can breathe, I can sleep, and can eat normal portions and be satisfied. It's a frickin miracle.
ChelleChi1969 69 Posted January 15, 2015 Congrats & you're on your way! Stick to all your post-op instructions & move as much as you can -- even if you don't feel like it. I promise -- you'll be glad that you did!! Also, I found the Gas-X strips to be very helpful -- I had very little gas pain & no shoulder pain whatsoever. Best of luck to you!
