Not a one! I love my sleeve. I was sleeved in October and have enjoyed gaing my quality of life back. The sleeve feels so natural unlike the band ever did.

None. Not one! The sleeve is an entirely different experience. It's what you hoped the band would be. The sleeve is great!

I was wondering the same thing as I wait for my revision - I don't want to gain the weight back like I did with the band.

I have no regrets that I went from band to sleeve. I have no complications as I did with the band. I had the same exact problem as you with being able to eat anything with the band unfilled but getting stuck and throwing up constantly when it was filled. I never had that sweet spot that everyone talks about. With the sleeve it feels so natural yet getting satiated with very little food. I love my sleeve and suddenly food is not THE priority in my life!!!

No regrets here, but I couldn't tolerate fill in my band for years, so I was essentially unbanded when I had my revision. I've heard that for some people it's a struggle to get away from eating the slider foods they got into the habit of eating with a finicky band - and these same foods can prevent success with the sleeve. So it's important to make a fresh start with the sleeve and get into the habit of eating dense Proteins and veggies.

I've heard talk of rolls of quarters in pockets, ankle weights, heavy clothes/boots, and drinking lots of Water before weigh in. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your replies.

I saw my doc yesterday and he was very supportive of the idea of switching to sleeve.

I'm on a fast track to get it done before March 14, when the new Blue Cross requirements go in to effect (6 mo diet).

Unfortunately, my BMI is too low now and doctor thinks I will be rejected by insurance. BMI is 30. I would have to gain 13 pounds in 1 month in order to qualify. I'm thinking I will give it a try.

Any thoughts? I'm starting a new post with this issue so feel free to comment there or here. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you so much!

Love my sleeve! No regrets here. I just wish I had the sleeve beginning. Two years struggling with the band with slips and food getting and just not feeling great. Last January I had my band revised to the sleeve and i feel great! No worrying about if the bite i just took was too big, if it's gonna get stuck or if its gonna come back out. I just wish my weight loss wouldn't have stalled for the last 8 month. It goes up and down about 3lbs but other than that not one pound or inch of my body. and it's not like i'm not trying. I eat well and exercise about 3-4 times a week. Oh well. at least i know i can maintain the weight once it ever comes off! I have about 45lbs to go!

With the band I lost about 65lbs. My starting weight was 233 and got down to 165. My band slipped and my doctor unbuckled it and then i gained about 25-30lbs weighting for the band to be repositioned and rebuckled (about 3 months). I probably used that time as a "WOOHOO! I can eat what i want phase!" Then lost the 25lbs again until i found out my band had slipped again and my doctor said he could reposition it again but more likely the band will slip again. So i opted for the sleeve. I gain about 20lbs before I had my sleeve because I figured out how to eat around the band so food wouldn't get stuck and i wouldn't be in pain from the pressure of the food on the slipped band. To make a long story short in the last year ( I had the revision January 2014) I've only lost about 20lbs (again). I'm waiting for the day to get beyond this massive plateau!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
