Cash? Credit Cards? Mexico?

Recommended Posts

I plan on bringing cash for tipping to Mexico- I have 100 in small bills. Will my credit card work down there, too? Someone said to bring more cash for the pharmacy, etc...but I have never been a fan of carrying a ton of cash on me. Will my credit cards work in the pharmacies and stores??

Thanks!

Credit cards do work just fine in the pharmacies. I didn't need mine for my VSG trip, but I did use one on a previous trip with no issues. I hate carrying cash too, but I just took out about $200 and stashed it in all different places so it wasn't like ALL just in my wallet. That way if I lost any single bag, I'd still have some left. I ended up spending almost NONE of it. I think I used a little for tips and I used some on a bottle of Vitamin Water. That was it!

@@JamieLogical Awesome, thank you!!! I was really not wanting to go down there with a ton of cash. I hate carrying it. I am also paranoid, so that may have something to do with it ;)

Woot!

@@shizwiz if you take your cards you should contact UR carriers so that they don't freeze your account thinking that it is a scam or somebody's ripping you off... I have never been to Tijuana but I have been to Rocky Point many times.. And if for any reason you use their banking down there, there will be usually an international 3% fee... Just a heads up..! By the way I think your 100$ in small bills will be fine.. I'm not sure you'll be up to shopping much, lol..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
