I am currently 12.5 weeks post op and I am still looking for a better way to track my Protein and meals.

Do you use an app to track your information?

I have a 20 ounce Water bottle that I keep rubber bands around and every time I fill it up I move a rubber band. knowing that that needs to be at least three times a day it keeps me on track.

I am a mobile worker that spends a lot of time in my car so lunch meals are sometimes difficult for me. Sometimes I have access to a microwave and sometimes I do not. I have had days where I brought food with me but didn't end up eating because I had nowhere to heat up my food, which I know is not good.

does anyone else struggle with working on the road? I have had days where I substitute a Protein Drink for a meal but I do get sick of the Protein drinks!

Invest in a good thermos. One that can be easily fit into a small lunch pack. Amazon has loads of them.

I use Myfitnesspal. I use MFP not only to track calories and Proteins but also macro-nutrients.

I also find that wearing an activity tracker is very helpful.

Yes, bring foods you don't need to heat.

I eat in my car 2-3 days every week on the road. Everyday I pack an insulated lunch bag with the reusable freezer packs to keep things cold.

For food I pack a P3 Protein pack (I like the turkey/cheddar/almond) for my main lunch, plus I will usually bring a mini-babybel cheese in case I'm extra hungry for lunch. And sometimes a Protein Bar just in case. I like to add a small bottle of G2 as well.

A lot of times I end up bringing the extra Snacks back home, but I feel better knowing I have something more if I want it.

I use My Fitness Pal, and I love it.

When you really learn how to max out its features it's soooo helpful.

I use loseit app and the fitbit is my best friend to keep on track with my activity.

I also pack food- cottage cheese and yogurt are my go tos.. Then I make sure to eat something else at night when I have more time and access to appliances..

Good idea with the rubber bands and I agree with the previous posters. Pack meals that don't need to be heated small salad, cheese, hard boiled eggs, tuna, deli meats. Protein 1st

You can also try a wide mouth food jar.

I have the same thing at least twice a week - being on the road. My favorite tool for it is my 'Laptop lunch Box' that's like a bento box. I learned about them on a GREAT site The World According to Eggface. Check it out - she's also got about a thousand lunches with pictures you can make, most requiring not microwaving since she's on the go a lot too.

I track food with my fitbit, used to use my fitness pal, both are good for me. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
