Seems strange that I'm asking this but, if I drink mouthfuls of Water instead of sips will my sleeve stretch?

I drink tons and never sips. I don't guzzle but do drink a few mouthfuls at a time.

I'm still trying to work all this together. I'm about 6 weeks out

It's liquid so it should go right through.

I drink the same way and thought, should I be able to do this? But if it doesn't hurt, it must be ok

It does go through ,your right Elode, but I'm afraid when I drink the Protein Shakes it stays there longer because I feel so full.

Strange how something fill you up and others don't.

Yes it liquid and may not present a problem. I don't have to sip like I did at first, however I think it's a good habit to keep because you may end up also eating like that. However food won't slip through like Water and can cause problems because food eaten too fast can be uncomfortable and cause slimeing or throwing up. Also the purpose of this surgery is to get us to slow down when we eat/drink, gulping goes against that.

I don't think you'll stretch the sleeve as liquid runs thru fast. Gulps might just make you feel fuller and uncomfortable. Listen to your sleeve.

Same here. I can gulp away with no problem, and often suggest to people who complain of hunger that they use fluids to keep their sleeves satisfied between meals . BUT... I sometimes worry that keeping my stomach full of Fluid is just a substitute for keeping it full of food. Should I be concerned that I haven't got my head right yet because I still like to feel full? I mean, I drink all day long. Like 120 oz. a day. I have my 6 month surgeon appointment in a few days so I'll ask him about it. If it's anything to worry about, I'll post it here.

I think drinking Water to feel full is better than eating and if that's the worse vice you get from this process it's fairly harmless.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
