thin-for-kidney 21 Posted January 23, 2015 What about iced tea?? My surgery date is 1/28 and I know we aren't supposed to have caffeine, but I love iced tea in the summer, usually made out of black tea
bellabloom 2,467 Posted January 24, 2015 16 days post op and I'm dying for a glass of Merlot... Has anyone drank so soon after surgery? And if so, any complications? I had a few sips at about four weeks. It didn't make me feel so hot. I had some whisky on the rocks and that was better. I'm not much of a drinker at all, that was the first drink of had in probably a year! But the sugar in wine makes me nervous. I didn't feel like it gave me a buzz faster anyhow ... . Try it! Just be very careful and moderate in your tasting. Your body has been through a lot. My doctor says none for a year and for me I probably won't again for a long long time but every doctor is different
drmeow 323 Posted January 26, 2015 Decaf coffee is still very acidic even without the caffeine. I'm a big coffee drinker now, before surgery, but am weaning myself off slowly and don't plan on re-introducing it afterwards, at least for a long time. I've gone off it entirely several times before and did fine after the initial changes but never had a good enough reason to just stay off it.
