Can we talk blenders?

Recommended Posts

I just bought an inexpensive small blender at Walmart and have only used it a few times. I went from full liquids to soft (poached eggs, refried Beans, strained soup) so really had little need.

@@geelynn one of my favorite sweet treats with it is making soft serve with some frozen fruit, like strawberries with a spoon of unsweetened cocoa baking powder, almond milk and stevia... hits the spot! =D That's awesome you love it! :D

I just purchased the Nutribullet RX. I do not consider this a blender. It's something else. It basically liquified all veggies and fruit and makes great Soups and thick liquids. If you're looking for a machine to make shakes with ice, I don't really think this Machine is for that. Most of the recipes either use water/almond milk/coconut water/broths but not really ices. The ice would be liquified anyways. I bout it thinking it was a blender but now realize it's so much more. Definitely gotta keep the fridge stocked to use this thing.

I have a Ninja Pro 1100 and I absolutely LOVE it. I chose this model specifically for it's ability to crush ice and frozen fruit. I use it daily for Protein Shakes (with ice) and my daughter uses it daily for frozen fruit smoothies.< /p>

I just unpacked my Vitamix this morning and made my first veg smoothie with Protein powder. Delish! Going to make the tofu carrot Soup tonight and chocolate ice cream later tonight for my kids. I am in love.

The Vitamix was a Godsend for me during my entire weight-loss journey, Pre and Post OP. I've used it for everything, smoothies, soup, sherbet, nut butter, etc.

Good luck to you on your journey and happy blending!

I had a vitamix before my surgery and it has been a great addition to my WL. Costly but so worth it. Blends everything perfect and the clean up is the best. Little hot Water and dish soap and put on the base and turn on high. Raise and air dry. Not all those parts to take apart.

Any advice on which vitamix to go with?

I started moving away from processed food a few years ago. Now with the surgery almost here I've given up fast food and soda. My grocery cart today was all veggies, fish, chicken and stuff to make Soup and chili. Yes i think i need this. I'm not a lean cuisine eater, i want real food.

I have the Vitamix Creation GC, it has a better motor than the Creations II. Mine is only 48oz.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
