Looking to purchase a blender prior to surgery. What's the best? And do any puree? Looking at either the Ninja or Nutribullet Rx. Suggestions?

I bought a ninja mini is was 20 bucks at Walmart and did an excellent job of purée ing but I didn't really need it much at all.

I have a nutri bullet. I like it for my shakes. But I don't think it would be the best for purees. I also have a baby bullet that I used to make food for my son when he was at the pureed foods stage. To me its probably still not going to do meats very well but it comes with these little cups that are perfect for portion sizes for us. The ninja would probably be the best. The blades on that are better than any of the bullets so that may be better. I plan on buying beechnut baby food lol. Or maybe I'll use my sister in law's ninja!!!

Go with the ninja. It's worth the money!

I watched a bunch of vids comparing the Ninja to the Bullet and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference besides the fact that you have to hold the cup down and constantly apply pressure for the Ninja to work, and you don't with the bullet, it actually locks down... so for that reason I went with Nutribullet Pro. Some Ninja's you may not have to do that with, but all the reviews I saw you did. I love the bullet, it gets the job done almost as well as my Vitamix (which is too big and heavy for small servings). I kinda wish I'd gone with the RX though.

Oh and I use it for all kinds of shakes including frozen fruits and vegis, and ice, dates, etc and so far it hasn't had a problem chewing anything up. Depending on what you are pureeing I think it may work fine, especially if you go with the RX. Just making sure there is liquid in the container is what is key to making it work at it's best capacity.

I prefer the nutrabullet because I sometimes also add fruit and veg to my smoothies. Blends really well. My next purchase will be a vitamix. However if you just want something to mix smoothies. Oster makes a smoothie blender for about $20

I purchased a Vitamix from QVC last year. Hands down the best blending experience I've had. But it is pricey!!! Fortunately, QVC does easy pay which helped me be able to afford this Cadillac of Blenders!

Other than that I like the ninja pro.

I plan to purchase a Vitamix because I cook and will get more use out of it than just smoothie making. If someone just want to blend their Protein drinks they don't need one.

The ninja is awesome. I love that thing so much I forbid anyone else in the house to use it. LOL

@@BLERDgirl I've used my vitamix for everything from mincing cabbage for coleslaw then making the dressing for it, to making homemade hummus... it really is a great machine if you like to cook =D

I watched tons of videos and reviews. I watched the one from America's test kitchen and the Vitamin and a Breville one came out on top. I bought the Breville because it much cheaper than the vitamin (although still pricey). It has been great!

Sorry - I meant Vitamix, not vitamin!

I was blessed to have met someone selling their less than 2 year old Vitamix for a majorly discounted price because they decided they wanted a different color or something. Before I got it I was thinking about doing the QVC flex pay on one for a couple of months but couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a blender, but now having one for the past few years and experienced it, I wouldn't feel bad making that kind of investment if something happened to this one.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
