Monica77 12 Posted January 11, 2015 I'm 3 days post op & looking for other ways to get my Protein. I have vanilla & chocolate Protein Powder from my nutritionist which is fine. But looking for something flavorless I can mix w broth or juice. I saw a few people on here mention GENEPRO. I bought that & it does not dissolve in anything. It separates & sits at the bottom or stay clumpy. Waste of $50. Any other suggestions?
alwaysvegas 702 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Many people have enjoyed the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein. They even have a chicken flavor that I found enjoyable. http://www.unjury.com/ Edited January 11, 2015 by AlwaysVegas
Breezy31 30 Posted January 11, 2015 Unjury is pretty good! I ordered the chicken broth and had that a lot during my liquid phase. Also, Syntrax makes an unflavored powder that dissolves nicely. I still use that for somethings! My doctor's office sells it, but it is also on Amazon. I believe it is $18 for the container. Definitely came in handy when I started the pureed stage. maxcimax 220 Posted January 11, 2015 unjury chicken broth is good. It kept me from being a little nauseated during the liquid stage. My surgeon recommended it. I like the Syntrax unflavored Protein. Just be sure your liquid is not really hot. I think the maximum temp is 140 degrees. For regular Protein I use Syntrax nectar in the individual servings packages. This way I don't get bored with one flavor by buying a container. I also keep Premier Protein in my refrigerator that I can grab & run or if I feel lazy & don't want to blend anything to drink. Good luck with your journey. It is so worth it.
Pepper123 320 Posted January 11, 2015 The Unjury products are great also the GNC lean me 25 grams of Protein a scoop....
athena3127 199 Posted January 11, 2015 I agree on GNC and another option is mixing in Decaf coffee. That is a huge help for me specifically on cold mornings.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted January 11, 2015 Of all the ones I tried, Syntrax products mixed the best. Like maxcimax said, if you are going for a hot beverage or Soup, Protein mixes are more likely to clump as you approach 140 degrees. What I ended up doing for a hot drink/soup was mix the powder in a bit of the liquid at room temperature or "baby bath warm", then add the rest of the liquid at 130 degrees. If I am making a shake or pudding, I use the warm liquid to get the Protein powder wet, the add the rest of the liquid at the colder temp. I would not throw out what you have until trying this. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 11, 2015 Plain greek yogurt. I'm partial to FAGE 0%. Beans smushed (you can thin them out with a bit of broth), 0% milk powder can also be added to broths. Liquid Protein (I used Prosource no carb which did mix with hot beverages like herbal tea.) I used all of these on my all liquid stage. Some people have reported success with Protein waters and the flavored Isopure Protein drinks.

I put in tea, Soups, iced tea (crystal light), pudding, mashed cauliflower- really anything I need to up my protein for the day. That's too bad it dissolves for me with no problems :-( Good luck! Not sure where you paid $50 bucks for it I believe on Amazon.com I only paid $35ish with my prime two day free shipping. This has helped me so much I would be lost without it!! Monica77 12 Posted January 12, 2015 That's so strange about the GENEPRO. I tried mixing it in cold & hot stuff & it didn't dissolve. Maybe I need to try room temp? I'll give it another try. It has so much Protein it would be great to use it.
PrincessDeb 43 Posted January 12, 2015 It didn't desolve well in my coffee, but was perfect in my mashed potatoes
CheleLynn45 615 Posted January 12, 2015 I use it in my morning g Decaf tea everyday. I brew decaf tea, dump my scoop of GENEPRO into my giant insulated cup, pour a little tea into it, mix it well with a spoon, then I add the rest of my 32oz of decaf tea, my splenda and 2tbsp of fat free Creamer and drink! I kill two birds this way....32oz of my liquid for the day and 31g of protein!! I have been losing every week since my surgery. I feel great and have more energy than ever!! I hope you find something that works for you! !

Just take a tbsp of Water or liquid and whisk the scoop of powder into the liquid adding more liquid until it's all dissolved. Then you can add the rest.
