What's your sweet treat?

Recommended Posts

Once in a while, I take Peanut Butter and mix it in with chocolate Protein Powder and roll into balls about the size of chocolate covered cherries. A couple of times, I have done that and then rolled them in melted dark chocolate.

Thank you for sharing!!! Made some of these this morning--YUM!

A Lenny & Larry cookie. Well... half of one at most.

@@MoosieGirl I love those Cookies too and like you only allow myself a portion.

@@Debbieduck4 I either enjoy a Decaf cinnamon tea for a sweet treat or a 1/4cup of trail mix.

It used to be yogurt (0% Total Fage). However, my nutritionist recommended everyone give it up. It is a slider food that doesn't fill you up very well. Giving it up was hard seeing as how I haven't had sugar in 4 months and yogurt was the only thing to help curb sweet tooth cravings.

I gave in last week and bought some. However, I only allow myself some when my calorie intake is below 500 for the day. I measure out only 1/2 cup and eat it terribly slow. I still feel incredibly guilty for caving in and buying some. Almost makes me feel like I'm cheating. Incredibly, I have not cheated yet and have lost 100 pounds in 5 months. I just want to keep progressing and don't want something like yogurt to be my downfall. Maybe I will throw it out. Go all the way or go home.

Do you mean the fruit added ones?

Atkins has candy. I just bought some on sale at Walmart this morning. They have a chocolate candy with caramel on the inside, chocolate covered almonds and a candy that's similar to peanut m&ms.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
