Crush or Liquid meds? RNY.

Gastric Bypass: As with the Lap band, do you have to crush pills, or purchase liquid meds? Can pills get stuck?

Also, what about time release pills?

I had RNY - for the first month I had to crush pills. I didn't take time release so I can't answer to that.

If you're taking time release pills prior to surgery, then you need to have a conversation with your doctor. At least at first you'll be crushing or taking liquid versions. Even later, with the malabsorption of the RNY, I think time release meds are to be avoided, but I could be wrong

RnY- everything chewable. I'd be afraid that even with crushing them, they'd "scratch" on the way down and/or make anything I tried to mix them with taste horrid.
