UmmZ 4 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) I am 20 days post-op and I am doing well. But two days now I am very hungry. I am tired of baby food and pureed Soup and Protein drinks. I feel like I want to eat something. What do you suggest I can eat during the soft food stage? Also, how often should I be eating? How many times a day? roundisashape 712 Posted January 7, 2015 During purees, I was a fan of chicken and tuna salad mixed REALLY well (just meat, mayo, spices - no veggies). About 1/2 can of Underwood chicken spread hit the spot during that stage too. Don't judge, lol - as I saw someone else mention on here, you'll eat things during this stage you'll probably never touch again. About a quarter cup or so of fork mashed canned corned beef hash went down well too, and felt more like food than the other stuff on the list. Refried Beans with a little pureed salsa also felt like real food, and they're high in Protein. The other thing I liked was pureed Hormel white chicken chili. Since it purees up a little thicker than plain Soup, it feels a little more substantial in your mouth. If your soft stage is distinct from your puree stage, that's a little easier. I'm on soft stuff now and it opens up new choices. Moist meats, cooked veggies and fruits, Beans, etc. The last couple of days I've been eating ground beef cooked with canned green beans. alwaysvegas 702 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Did your surgeon not provide a plan or a nutritionist to help you plan your post-op eating plan? I ask because doctors/nutritionists vary quite a bit in what they recommend. @@roundisashape gives a really great plan. But if your doctor/nutritionist did not give you a specific plan, you can do a web search of "gastric sleeve eating phases" and you'll come up with many medical websites so you can see the different recommendations. I'm just concerned that your surgeon would perform a surgery and not give you a list of foods to eat that he/she wants for their plan. This is the link to my surgeon's plan. You can see the different phases and recommended foods and eating times: http://www.360bariatrics.com/360-process/bariatric-diets/ Edited January 7, 2015 by AlwaysVegas
