    • Eat more protein. I’ll make sure to choose it first at most meals.

    • Log my food – every bite!

    • Stop munching and nibbling – eat only at meals and snacks that I’ve planned.

    • Get rid of the junk food that has crept back in my diet since I first got weight loss surgery and followed the weight loss surgery diet.

When you start thinking about New Year, New You, you might start thinking about all kinds of changes you could make to hit your health and weight loss goals in 2015. Since all of these changes can get overwhelming, it’s helpful to pinpoint a single change to focus on. Which one change can you make to help you reach your goals?

I've got to stop the evening grazing and be more intentional about when and what I'm going to have. This means not starting out the evening in a deficit mode and having to catch up on Protein and calories, because then it's too easy to go too far. Also if I have a cocktail I am more likely to lower my guard and revert to old habits, like looking for food.

I am getting close to my goal for my 1 year anniversary and I am eating enough Protein but my biggest issues are my Water intake and consistently exercising.

I am making excuses everyday and haven't been in the gym or working out in over 3 weeks. No weight gained, but no weight lost either.

I'm below goal and have easily maintained within a 4 pound bounce range for almost 5 months, so my eating habits seem pretty spot on. But I have never implemented any sort of exercise program since having surgery. I find "working out" boring and my job and normal lifestyle keeps me pretty active. But I just got a Fitbit One and will try and start simple just by increasing my steps each day. The dogs have been big fans of the new hiking/snowshoeing/skiing regimen the last couple weekends.

I'm also doing well for the most part with the food aspect. I'm never going to be a fan of exercise so I do my best to get to the pool two or three times a week and I consider that a goal met. But Water....oh my. I so need to drink more Water. I often drink less than two bottles and I know I should be drinking twice that. I drink coffee instead and I know that's not a good thing. I just recently got the flavor drops and I've found that helps so I hope by adding flavor, I'll drink more water this year. I know my intestines and colon will thank me... :P

Increase exercise somehow. So far I've added steps at work. Walking up and down flights at work every few hours. I'm up to 12 flights a day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
