Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted January 7, 2015 How many calories to support you're fitness level. My dietitian/Surgeon wants me to up my calories to 1500. With my bariatric stomach this is a chore. I eat all day. I'm able to get in 1000 at 7 months out. How do you fit you're calories in?
erp 2,016 Posted January 7, 2015 I exercise 4-6 days a week and only need about 1300 calories. Are you large framed or tall? At less than a year out, I wouldn't up my calories that much until I got to goal.
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted January 7, 2015 @@erp Oh no. I am not tall. I'm 5'5" and 141 pounds (one pound to my surgery goal at 7 months out). I'm still loosing and plan to get to about 130. I exercise 6 to 7 days a week. an hour of cardio and an hour of weight training added every other day. I'm working with my trainer at my gym. I have completed a 10K and I'm working to increase my distance to a half marathon. Trying to figure out how to balance fitness and a bariatic stomach
erp 2,016 Posted January 7, 2015 Ok got it. Here's how I did it. I upped calories progressively- 100 or so for a month at a time by adding more fats in like avocado, butter and a few higher fat meats on occasion (bacon!).
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted January 7, 2015 @@erp mmmm bacon Thank's, progressively I think I can do. I feel the restriction and its taking all day to get in 1000 calories. I'm also adding in nuts they are high in calories.
