So I'm about 7 weeks out and the week of xmas I was back to the hospital for lots of nausesa and pain. I wasn't eating due to that so they hooked my iv bag to a tmp bag which is liquid food/vitamins but I'm 100% better and need to get back to work soon and want to start eating real food again my labs everything is back to normal...it's been about 2 weeks and I feel like they are dragging it! My surgeon is on vacation so nobody wants to take me off this but it's making me depressed and go crazy!! So I refused the delivery of new supplies what would

You do?? There has to be someone else who can see me and move on from this...

What do you mean by "new supplies"? what are the supplies? Is it the saline drip? Is it because you want to eat and go home? I think that's what you are talking about. Does the surgeon have a backup? There must be another surgeon that they work with that could see you? I haven't dealt with this exactly though I do understand. They move so slowly and everything is tied up with red tape that nothing gets done in a timely manner. I think you should request to talk to another surgeon that could give you the ok to leave. Now that you have refused the new supplies, are they letting you eat? You have to do one or the other for sure. I guess I don't know what I would do but 2 weeks sounds like way too long.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
