I've read in other posts that this is normal and it will get back on track. Your body has just been put through the ringer. I hope I don't have this issue though ugh

I had the sleeve with DS Nov 21 and just had my period over Xmas. I have been on morena for 4 years and this was the first actual period I have had since it was inserted and it was heavy and crampy.

I got mine a week (1/2)before surgery (1/13) and it usually only lasts abt a 9 days. I still have it and it is now the 19th. Idk if this is bc of the surgery or what but its freakin me out as well

It's happened to me too and I'm 3 months post op. I had surgery in Oct and I've only had 1 period since then. It's normal, unless you're experiencing something else. It's all do to rapid weigh loss.

I've have gotten a period every month since Surgery. I will say they were pretty normal until the one this month, I feel like a bleed every ounce of blood I have out. Dr says its normal. It will regulate overtime.

I'm two weeks post op. I had read to take pads with you to the hospital because of the trauma your body will go through. Glad I did - I spotted for several days. My surgeon had my take my BC pills still. Now 2 weeks later I forgot to take it 1x and I have my full blown period. All sounds pretty normal with WLS. Glad I have the pills because I'd go crazy if it lasted more than 5-7 days.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
